HOUSTON, TX, September 30, 2016 – Metropolitan Montessori Schools, a Houston-based provider of early childhood education services, is celebrating 30 years of service to children and families.
The organization was founded to serve the work-life needs of professionals in the downtown Houston area. In 1986, Metropolitan Montessori Schools opened Houston’s first Montessori-based early childhood education program in downtown Houston on the campus of Christ Church Cathedral. Known as Cathedral House Montessori School, the school offered children ages six weeks through five years of age a quality Montessori-based education program close to their parents’ work locations.
“We are proud to be a pillar in Houston’s early childhood community,” says Metropolitan Montessori Schools Business Development Manager Aaron Carrara. “The early years are the most important years in building a strong foundation for educational and life success and we are excited about continuing our work over the next thirty years,” continued Carrara.
The organization currently operates two early childhood education programs in the Houston community. In 2003, Metropolitan Montessori Schools partnered with Christ Church Cathedral to expand school operations as Cathedral House Episcopal School. In 2008, Metropolitan Montessori Schools opened a second school on the campus of Rice University to serve the faculty members and staff of Rice University. Both schools are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Since its inception 30 years ago, Metropolitan Montessori Schools has become Houston’s premier early childhood education provider. The organization offers an exceptional educational curriculum with a wide variety of developmentally appropriate enrichment activities. Metropolitan Montessori Schools faculty and staff are dedicated to supporting families through cooperation and respect and offer parents a multitude of ways to be involved in the education of their children.
