Metropolitan Montessori Schools (MMS) is proud to announce Michael Gonzalez as the newest addition to our Administrative Team. Michael will serve as the Director of Recruiting and Professional Development and brings a wealth of knowledge to the position and our organization. In this role he will support our teaching staff in all aspects of their professional growth and development as well as supporting our organization’s outreach efforts in the community.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TXAEYC) for over ten years, and currently serves as President-Elect. Michael also sits on the Steering Committee of the Greater Houston Chapter of the TXAEYC as the Membership Committee Chair. A seasoned trainer in the field, Michael has delivered professional development to a myriad of early childhood professionals over the course of his career in the field. He is designated as a Child Development Associate (CDA) Professional Development Specialist, where his goal is to provide mentoring/coaching and early childhood expertise to practitioners pursuing a CDA Credential.
Michael has worked in the non-profit and for-profit sectors of the early childhood field, and most recently worked as the Area Director for four independently owned Kids R’ Kids early childhood programs. He officially joins the MMS team on Monday, September 16th and will have an office at both Cathedral House Episcopal School and the Rice Children’s Campus.
