In January of 2007, Rice University announced plans to construct a child development center to expand child care options for the children of Rice faculty, staff and students. To be known as the Rice Children's Campus, the plans call for a 9,500 square foot Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building located at 5504 Chaucer Drive, between Rice and University Boulevards. Metropolitan Montessori Schools has been selected by the University to operate the Rice Children's Campus.
The operation of the Rice Children's Campus will enable MMS to continue its family-centered approach to providing high quality early childhood education programs while supporting children in ther natural quest for discovery and information.
